Birmingham, Ala (August 25, 2008) Today, IBML announces two additional document scanner models: the ImageTrac 3e and the ImageTrac 3ex. The new scanners are an evolution of IBML’s renowned ImageTrac III platform, with more than 20 product enhancements, some subtle, others more revolutionary. The enhancements focus on usability, added functionality, operational efficiencies and increased productivity. The new scanners are available for purchase immediately with delivery starting in November 2008.
The most significant enhancement is the Operator Control Center. The color touch screen provides operators easier access to the scanner’s essential controls. The touch screen features a 180° range of motion, making the scanner accessible to anyone. The touch screen also simplifies the process of setting up and scanning documents, helping operators manage jobs more easily. When interruptions occur, the touch screen greatly simplifies the process of locating and resolving the problem, again increasing the operators’ overall efficiency.
The ImageTrac 3e series has a simplified profile, concealing more of the mechanical components of the scanner. The design changes enhance the usability of the scanner, helping operators feel more comfortable operating the scanner. By streamlining the profile, the design changes make it easier for operators to focus their attention on core functions, whether they are managing routine operation or recovering from interruptions. The scanners are also easier to service, as the accessories and component pieces are more accessible. When service is required, you will have less downtime and will be back in operation faster.
The redesigned document feeder now feeds thicker documents, including envelopes. The redesigned mechanisms are more reliable, allowing the scanner to work longer and more efficiently. On the output side, modifications to the sort pockets and exit trays help to eliminate jams. All of these changes were made to increase productivity and reduce downtime.
Every high-end, high-speed document scanner claims to be fast. But customers in the real world rarely see the top-end speeds established in controlled tests. Interruptions, downtime and variations in customer’s documents prevent most scanners from ever reaching their claimed throughput speeds.
IBML's SoftTrac application software has been updated to support the scanner enhancements. SoftTrac is the first step in building a successful and efficient capture system for your ImageTrac or TWAIN based system. SoftTrac delivers the operational control; capture accuracy and document processing intelligence to maximize performance.
The enhancements to the ImageTrac 3e series increase both the reliability and the efficiency of the scanners. Less downtime, increased productivity on both the front end and the back end of the process, greater reliability—together help you scan more documents faster than ever before. And in the end, the design changes that create the ImageTrac 3e and ImageTrac 3ex increase your overall productivity, allowing you to get more work done, faster.
