Imaging Business Machines Hosts Imaging Seminar for Feds in D.C.

The who’s who of the imaging world within the federal government was at the Marriott Metro Center in Washington, D.C., June 24, for a seminar co-sponsored by IBML, Captiva and Image Architects.

The seminar, “Reinventing Image Capture for e-Gov and GPEA” (Government Paperwork Elimination Act), focused on quickly and efficiently incorporating information from hard copy documents into the back-end business process.

The hosts were Fran Goucher, senior federal government account executive for IBML, Kathy Williams, federal sales manager for Captiva, and Peter Nirenberg, president and CTO of Image Architects.

They presented three PowerPoint presentations:

and three demonstrations of their respective hardware/software solutions. The demonstrations shattered the attendees’ preconceptions about image capture by capturing information from intermixed documents of multiple size and weight, without presorting, and combining it with intelligent information capture during both the scan and post scan processes.

The demonstrations helped the attendees better understand the shortcomings of traditional scanning methods and the excess labor costs that accompany it.
