IBML Opens First European Community Office in Konstanz, Germany
Birmingham, Ala. - February 27, 2004 -- Imaging Business Machines (IBML) announces today the creation of its first international wholly owned subsidiary, Imaging Business Machines, GmbH. This subsidiary will be the cornerstone of the company's international operations supporting the European Community. The facility is located in historic Konstanz, Germany and already has a number of key positions filled to begin serving its strong European customer and partner base.
According to Robert Sbrissa, IBML's senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing; "All facets of the business for the EC will be managed from the EC. We are not duplicating an American business but rather creating a European business managed by a European office. Partners will be able to get technical and marketing pre-sales support, order systems, parts and supplies, and get hardware maintenance and software support locally. As this is a significant investment for IBML, sales and marketing will be part of the worldwide strategy as we are still looking to fill some key positions to make this company a success for both IBML and our partners".
At the Konstanz office, a customer service organization has been setup and will soon feature local help desk support and a complete accounting and order processing capability. Individuals are already in place to manage technical support and visit customer operations as an added value to our partners. We believe our resellers will gain significant benefit from our support of their sales and marketing efforts and as a result increase sales of their solutions, featuring IBML technology.
Manfred Hoffman will be IBMG's managing director and brings with him many years of imaging and document processing experience with companies such as Siemens and AEG. Rich Weisberg, vice president of customer services has relocated to Konstanz and will be responsible for setting up another world-class support and services organization for the EC. Mr. Hoffman, Mr. Weisberg, and Mr. Sbrissa will be on hand at the upcoming CeBit technology fair in Hanover this March to meet and answer any questions from customers and partners alike.
