Derrick Murphy Named President of IBML

August 24, 2006 – Birmingham, Ala. – Imaging Business Machines, LLC (IBML) announced today the appointment of Derrick Murphy as president. “Derrick has more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing, operations and sales. He is in the perfect position to continue moving IBML forward as an entrepreneurially spirited company,” according to company founder and president, Gary Murphy.

Derrick will oversee all day-to-day activities of the business. “I look forward to assuming the responsibility for the entire company’s operations and working diligently to continually improve IBML’s products and services,” says Derrick Murphy.

Gary Murphy’s retirement comes after 35 years in the document processing industry. He and his wife, Virginia, founded IBML in 1992 and developed the first high-speed color scanner for the item processing market. He is the holder of four patents in this field. The IBML “ImageTrac” scanner has been very successful, and the company has shipped over 1000 systems throughout the USA and around the world.

Derrick Murphy likewise has a strong track record in the document business. In April of this year, he was named COO of IBML, giving him responsibility for the company’s global operations. His new role as president is effective immediately.
