IBML Appoints Derrick Murphy as COO

April 27, 2006 – Birmingham, Ala. – Imaging Business Machines, LLC (IBML) announced today the appointment of Derrick Murphy as Chief Operating Officer (COO). “Derrick has more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing and operations, he is in the perfect position to continue moving IBML forward as a privately held, entrepreneurial spirited company,” according to founder and president, Gary Murphy.

Derrick will oversee all day to day activities of the business including fabrication, manufacturing, engineering, scanning services and customer service. “I look forward to assuming responsibility for company operations. These are big shoes to fill. My father has always taken good care of our customers and our employees. That is a legacy we will continue with pride,” says Derrick Murphy.

Mr. Murphy’s semi-retirement comes after 35 years of working in the document processing industry. He is the holder of four patents in this field. In making the announcement, Gary Murphy said “the time has come for me to do less of the day to day running of the company as I look forward to spending more time with my family and pursuing my interest in land development in the mountains of North Carolina.”

Gary Murphy along with his wife, Virginia, founded IBML in 1992 and developed the first high-speed color scanner for the item processing market. The “ImageTrac” product has been very successful and the company is approaching its 1000 th unit delivery with systems throughout the USA and around the world.
