IBML Announces ImageTrac Scanners Help athenahealth Expand Services to Drive Revenue

Imaging Business Machines, LLC (IBML) announces that ImageTrac scanners have helped athenahealth grow strategically and capture revenue through new services. Over 8,000 medical practices rely on athenahealth to help manage their businesses and improve control over billing and clinical operations.

On average, 250,000 to 300,000 documents a week come into ImageTrac scanners at athenahealth headquarters. EOBs with and without checks arrive from thousands of insurance plans, all with their own formats, types and sizes of paper. ImageTrac scanners help get these items posted quickly so athenahealth can meet SLAs, and doctors can better manage their practices and generate cash flow. Once athenahealth was ready to add strategic new services for their customers, ImageTrac scanners played a key role.

When athenahealth built a unit that leverages Check21 regulations to provide one-stop check and EOB processing, ImageTrac scanning speed, check processing and image quality were critical for the new service. As a result, cash is available faster and deposit security is improved for medical practices.

ImageTrac’s versatility is also contributing to the launch of another athenahealth product to manage clinical records, including diagnosis and treatment documentation, test orders and prescription refills. This service adds a variety of documents to the scanning workflow, like prescription forms, lab results, and other materials printed on lightweight paper. The ImageTrac easily handles a wide variety of materials, so athenahealth can process and digitize important information for clients without the delay or cost of excessive prep work.
