IBML and BancTec Announce Settlement of Pending Litigation

July 24 – Birmingham, AL – Imaging Business Machines, LLC (IBML) and BancTec are announcing the settlement and resolution of litigation originally filed in 2004. The case had been awaiting trial in U.S. District Court.

“Litigation is never the preferred path. We are pleased to have this matter behind us and look forward to focusing our efforts on delivery of our state-of-the-art products, services and solutions to the marketplace,” said Derrick Murphy, chief executive officer and president, IBML.

“We appreciate the efforts of the executives from both companies in bringing this litigation to closure,” said J. Coley Clark, president, chief executive officer and chairman, BancTec. “Final resolution enables us to more fully devote our attention to the exciting opportunities we foresee for BancTec.”

By agreement, IBML, BancTec and their counsel will have no further comment on the litigation or the terms of the settlement agreement.
